Icicle Chase
Saturday October 15th 2011

Description

The launch site will be just below the last lock in Peterborough and the race will take you south on the river to Campbelltown. This is a nice section of the river and boat traffic should be minimal since we are past the Thanksgiving weekend. Hopefully there will be some colour on the trees by then. We hope to have a BBQ in the parking lot at Campbelltown.

We will use the format of the headraces, starting the boats at intervals and recording their finish times at Campbelltown to determine the overall time to complete the course.

Wilson Island Replacement Half Marathon

Otonobee River South of Peterborough to Campbelltown

Saturday, October 15, 2011

Unfortunately, we were unable to use the campground on Wilson Island for a launch point this year. However, after cancelling the event, and then hearing from two people that they had crews ready to go, we have decided to do the south section of the Otonabee River.

Since we start and finish at different points it will require co-ordination of vehicles so that we have some at both ends. I will get back to everyone who signs up with suggestions for the best places to leave vehicles.

Cost: $35 per person – includes seat fee and transportation of boats and a BBQ

Join us for what could be your last row of the season.

Please send a list of the names of the people in your boat, along with a name for your crew.

I will be in contact to finalize details with all crews planning to attend.
