Lower Madawaska Tour
Sunday October 4th 2009

Description

On the day after the Head of the Trent, come up to the beautiful Lower Madawaska River for some peaceful, relaxed rowing on a beautiful, sheltered stretch of the Madawaska River. The spectrum of Fall foliage speckle the Madawaska highlands.

Highlights

A beautiful fall foliage tour on the Madawaska-Kameniskeg waterway. You row through the reeds of the provincially protected Conroys Marsh. You may be able to see remnants of a ghost town and mine.

 

Itinerary


Start: Mayflower Park, Mill St., Combermere at 10 AM

There is a 10-15 km morning row on the Madawaska River, Negeek Lake, and the York River (Conroy Marsh).

Lunch: Lentz landing under Boehmes Mountain or Boffins Point under William Johns Mountain

There is an 10-15 km row after lunch through Conroy Marsh, Negeek Lake, and the Madawaska River

Finish: Mayflower Park, Combermere
