Upper Ottawa Tour
Friday July 31st to August 2nd 2009

Description

This is great rowing along the scenic shores of the Ottawa River. We pass rocks sacred to native Canadians, points where the voyageurs camped, waterways plied by steamboats, and huge chains which are relics of the lumbering days. The towering pines, the objectives of the lumberjacks, line the shores. Deep quiet cliffside bays indent the shore. Oiseaux Rock is a sacred aboriginal site linking water, land, and sky. Bring your swimming wear; there are some great beaches. We go back to the same resort as we visited 5 years ago – some will remember the hot tub tour.
